Technology Overview

Ten years ago we were working on solutions for sustainable energy. Specifically on optimizing efficiency and security for microgrids. As we developed various aspects of these solutions we noticed that our work had applications in many areas.  Within a couple of years, we had the framework for a new tech model with far-reaching possibilities.

All of our technology was built from first principles, from the ground up.

We did this for 3 reasons:

1. Many existing platforms are grounded in an outdated ownership and profit model that limits larger potentials.

2. We wanted to avoid hidden surprises that could show up later if we built on top of existing technology.

3. We felt we had a new way of approaching change for good through tech tools designed to both enable and drive such change.

Tech Infrastructure

We refer to our core technology as an Infrastructure. Just as a building has an infrastructure so also does all technology. Technology in this case includes websites and Apps, but also platforms and programs.

Each building’s infrastructure includes the physical support, but also the hidden ducts, pipes, and wires that allow it to function for its occupants. Similarly, an App or platform infrastructure allows it to function in ways that benefit its clients and users. These unseen components include how it manages input (data) and output (solutions) – but also essential requirements like security, records, privacy, simplicity, scaling for growth, energy efficiency, and more. These are precisely the areas our core infrastructure excels in.
